JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Release 26 – January update with new Tools Enhancements
With the January update of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Release 26 , Oracle introduces new Tools Enhancements that make the platform more efficient and easier to manage.
The improvements make it easier to leverage AI, quickly set up cloud environments, and manage everything centrally. This allows you to continue innovating with less administrative pressure.
In this article, we highlight the most important updates within Digital Platform and Cloud.
Digital Platform
Learning Paths – Enriching widgets with OCI Generative AI and UDO translations
With this Tools update, JD Edwards introduces new learning paths around the existing Authentication for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Services. These examples show how organizations can extend their JD Edwards environment with services from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Specifically, it will be possible to:
- Enhance EnterpriseOne widgets with OCI Generative AI,
- Automatically translate User Defined Objects (UDOs) using OCI Language AI, making the user experience more personalized and multilingual.
For IT teams and key users, this paves the way for practical AI applications without the need for customization outside of JD Edwards. Think of widgets that automatically display contextual summaries, or UDOs that automatically become available in multiple languages. The result is a more efficient and user-friendly platform that better suits international teams and the expectations of key users.
Cloud
JD Edwards continues to evolve as a cloud-ready platform. The new Tools Enhancements make it easier to implement and manage EnterpriseOne in a modern cloud architecture, with greater flexibility, performance, and standardization.
Support for Oracle AI Database 26ai in One-Click Provisioning
JD Edwards One-Click Provisioning now also supports Oracle AI Database 26ai. This allows organizations to immediately leverage the latest database capabilities in an automated JD Edwards environment.
This means:
- Access to advanced AI and data functionalities
- Better performance for analytical workloads
- A future-proof data platform under JD Edwards
This translates into faster insights, smarter automation, and a robust foundation for data-driven processes.

Support for Oracle Linux 9
Oracle Linux 9 is now also fully supported within One-Click Provisioning. New JD Edwards environments can be rolled out directly on this version, with benefits in terms of:
- Security and lifecycle management
- Performance optimizations
- Longer vendor support
This keeps your technical stack in line with the latest Oracle standards without complex migration processes.
Centralized Configuration in One-Click Provisioning
Another important improvement is the support for Centralized Configuration. Configurations can now be managed centrally within One-Click Provisioned environments.
This ensures:
- More consistent management across multiple environments
- Fewer manual configuration steps
- Faster rollout of changes.
For management teams, this means greater control, fewer errors, and more efficient lifecycle management of JD Edwards in the cloud.
JD Edwards in the cloud: from infrastructure to strategic platform
These Tools Enhancements demonstrate Oracle's strong commitment to a modern cloud strategy for JD Edwards. Whether it's AI capabilities via OCI, automated provisioning, or centralized management, the platform is becoming increasingly flexible and easier to manage.
At the same time, it is becoming more important to keep code current . Only then can you take full advantage of new Tools and Application Enhancements, security updates, and innovations within R26.
At Forza, we help organizations make practical use of these opportunities. From the right cloud architecture to setting up One-Click Provisioning and connecting JD Edwards to OCI services.
