JD Edwards Release 26 – April Update with New Tool Enhancements
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Release 26 continues to evolve. With the April update, Oracle is introducing a series of targeted Tools Enhancements that help organizations keep their JD Edwards environment more manageable, secure, and future-proof.
The improvements focus on the digital platform, orchestrations, system administration, security, and platform certifications. In this article, we highlight a number of key updates and demonstrate the practical value they bring to day-to-day IT and business processes.
Digital Platform
Enterprise Process Modeler: custom process models, metrics, and analytics
With this enhancement, Enterprise Process Modeler (EPM) becomes significantly more flexible. Organizations can now define their own process models—including associated metrics and analytics—for any business process for which data is available in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
Consider processes such as:
- The entire lifecycle of a lease
- Supplier onboarding
- Tracking work order stages
Even when no standard templates are available, you can now model and analyze processes. This provides greater insight into how processes actually unfold within the organization and helps you better understand bottlenecks, lead times, and dependencies.
What this delivers:
Greater control over end-to-end processes and a broader, more consistent view of how the organization functions as a whole.
Orchestrations: Repeating forms within a Form Request
The Form Request step in Orchestrator has been enhanced with the ability to automatically repeat the same forms within a single Form Request or conditionally skip them, depending on the number of underlying detail rows.
A common scenario involves converting a requisition into a purchase order. In that process, the EnterpriseOne application displays the form repeatedly for each line item on the requisition. With this enhancement, Orchestrator can now handle this repetition within the Form Request itself, without requiring additional custom logic or multiple separate form calls.
This allows a single orchestration to handle an unpredictable number of detailed lines and, for example, automatically convert every requisition into a purchase order, regardless of the number of lines.
The benefits:
Improved scalability of orchestrations, reduced design complexity, and more reliable automation of core processes.
Data Extension for Power Edit Forms
Form extensions for Power Edit Forms have been further expanded. It is now possible to add additional data items from the business views associated with the (sub)forms.
In environments with complex forms, such as Incident Management in Health & Safety, this makes it possible to add additional fields—such as category codes or user-reserved fields—without modifying the standard application.
What this offers:
Greater flexibility at the form level while retaining standard JD Edwards functionality.
Improved error handling in Orchestrator
Orchestrations can now store exception messages from failed steps in variables. This error information can then be used in subsequent steps, rules, or notifications.
For example:
- Handling errors in an external REST API
- Automatically selecting an alternative path
- Sending a specific error message to the appropriate role
What this achieves:
Better error handling, more predictable behavior, and less manual intervention in the event of a process failure.

System Administration
Web OMW: BrowseER via the web client
With this enhancement, BrowseER functionality is now available via the EnterpriseOne web client. Users can view and print Event Rules, both from their own specifications and from active packages.
This makes the experience more similar to the traditional Development Client, but accessible via a browser.
Improvements to the password reset self-service feature
The password reset feature has been expanded to include:
- Customizable email templates with branding and multilingual support
- Immediate access after a reset, without having to log in again
In addition, it is now possible to configure the number of previous passwords that cannot be reused, in accordance with the organization’s security policy.
Security
Support for TLS 1.3 with Oracle AI Database 26ai
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne now supports TLS 1.3 when used with Oracle AI Database 26ai on Oracle Linux. This provides stronger encryption, higher performance, and enhanced security and compliance.
Platforms
New platform certifications with One-Click Provisioning
This Tools Release includes new certifications, such as:
- Oracle WebLogic Server 14.1.2.
- Oracle Java 17 (runtime)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2025
- Microsoft Office 2024
- Oracle AI Database 26ai
This ensures that JD Edwards EnterpriseOne continues to be supported on a current, stable, and vendor-certified technology stack.
