Job Opening: Senior Finance Consultant, JD Edwards

Combine your financial expertise with strategic advice and substantive leadership.

Are you an experienced Finance Consultant who looks beyond just the financial configuration of an ERP system? Do complex business challenges, advising clients at the management level, and improving financial processes energize you? And do you enjoy not only helping clients succeed but also contributing to the development of a consulting team?

Then this is your chance to make a difference at Forza.

As a Senior Finance Consultant for JD Edwards, you combine in-depth financial knowledge with functional ERP expertise and take on an advisory role. You help organizations get more out of their ERP environment, guide complex implementations and optimizations, and provide subject matter leadership within the financial domain.

At the same time, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape our consulting approach, coach your colleagues, and contribute to the continued professional development of our services.

About Forza

At Forza, we believe that technology should not be a limitation, but rather the powerful heart of an organization.

Forza supports organizations that deal with complex business processes and are reaching the limits of their current ERP platform. With our expertise in Oracle JD Edwards, we help clients optimize their business operations, modernize their systems, and design business processes that are future-proof.

Since 2007, we have been combining technical expertise with an understanding of business processes. We have about 30 colleagues working out of our office in Soest and are part of Forza IT Group, an international organization with approximately 100 employees.

Within our consulting firm, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced specialists and actively contribute to the further development of our services.

What are you going to do?

As a Senior Finance Consultant, you are responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on financial issues within JD Edwards. You switch effortlessly between operational challenges, complex ERP projects, and strategic discussions with clients.

You're not only the one who finds the solution, but also the one who helps the client understand what choices are needed to achieve structural improvement.

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:
Financial processes and ERP optimization

  • Provide advice on financial business processes and their functional design within JD Edwards.
  • Analyzing and resolving complex financial issues, such as problems with period-end closings or stalled orders.
  •  Identifying opportunities for improvement and guiding customers toward sustainable solutions.
  • Help existing customers make better use of their ERP environment and improve their use of systems and processes.

Content Leadership and Project Management

  • Take the lead on the technical aspects of implementations, migrations, upgrades, and optimization projects within the financial sector.
  • Guide clients through changes to their financial processes and ERP configurations.
  • Monitor the alignment between finance and other business processes, such as sales and distribution.
  • Collaborating with colleagues from other disciplines to develop comprehensive solutions.

Strategic Client Consulting

  • Serve as a sparring partner for management and C-level stakeholders.
  • Advise clients on process choices, changes, and their implications for their organization.
  • Translating complex issues into concrete and practical solutions.
  • Use your financial and functional expertise to contribute to the presale process.

Team Development and Professional Development

  • Guide and coach less experienced consultants in their professional development.
  • Work with the innovation team to further develop the project methodology into a recognizable and structured approach to business consulting.
  • Take the initiative in improving our services and internal collaboration.
  • Contribute to the continued development of the financial consulting team.

About the team and your responsibilities

You'll be part of a team of about 25 consultants, including a team of finance consultants. You'll work alongside three finance consultants and an external consultant as part of a permanent, flexible workforce.

The team and our consulting approach are constantly evolving. Much of our work stems from direct client requests. That is precisely why we are looking for someone who looks beyond today’s needs and helps us bring more structure, coherence, and a long-term perspective to our work.

You'll work on a wide variety of assignments, ranging from long-term ERP projects to smaller, complex client issues. Projects typically last three to eighteen months.

In addition, you’ll be handling smaller issues for other clients. This requires flexibility, a broad perspective, and the ability to quickly switch between different organizations and challenges.

So you’ll get both the depth of long-term projects and the variety of diverse consulting challenges.

What do you bring to the table?

We are looking for an experienced professional with a solid financial background, extensive ERP knowledge, and the ambition to take on a broader role than that of a subject-matter specialist.

You don’t have to be a fully developed leader from day one. What matters most to us is that you take the initiative, aren’t afraid to provide direction, and are motivated to help your colleagues grow.

Your knowledge and experience

  • You have a higher vocational education (HBO) level of work and thinking.
  • You have at least ten years of relevant work experience in ERP consulting or a similar field.
  • You should preferably have extensive experience with Oracle JD Edwards.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of financial business processes and know how to translate them into an appropriate ERP configuration.
  • You have experience overseeing or providing technical leadership for implementations, migrations, upgrades, or optimization projects.
  • You understand how financial processes are linked to other business processes, such as sales and distribution.
  • You have a Class B driver's license and are comfortable working regularly at clients' locations.

Your Personality

  • You are a strong advocate for clients, management, and the executive team.
  • You take the initiative and aren't afraid to provide substantive guidance.
  • You combine analytical skills with a practical, solution-oriented approach.
  • You're good at switching back and forth between different clients, projects, and issues.
  • You enjoy improving processes and bringing structure to them.
  • You find fulfillment in mentoring and developing your colleagues.
  • You'll feel comfortable in an organization where there's room to further shape existing work processes.

What can you expect from us?

At Forza, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your expertise, influence the development of our services, and make a tangible contribution to our clients’ success.

Of course, this is offset by an attractive benefits package:

  • A salary between €6,000 and €8,000 gross per month (based on a 40-hour workweek)
  • A work schedule of 32 to 40 hours per week
  • 27 days of vacation, with the option to purchase 5 additional days
  • 8% vacation pay
  • An excellent pension plan with Nationale Nederlanden, featuring an 8% employer contribution; employee contributions are voluntary
  • Choose between a company car, a public transportation chip card for unlimited travel (which can also be used for personal travel), or a mileage allowance of €0.46 per kilometer
  • Budget for setting up your own home office
  • A work-from-home allowance
  • A laptop and a phone
  • A hybrid work environment where we have the flexibility to work at client sites, in the office, and from home. For this position, however, we expect you to spend a significant amount of time at client sites and in the office with the team.
  • A varied role that offers both substantive depth and the opportunity to influence the development of our consulting practice.
  • An opportunity to share your knowledge, coach your colleagues, and further professionalize our work processes.
  • Plenty of opportunities for training, certifications, and personal development
  • Annual team activities such as a BBQ, Christmas dinner, and family day

Why This Role Is Interesting

This position is ideally suited for a senior consultant who is ready to take the next step in their career.

You’ll continue to be deeply involved in complex financial and ERP issues, while at the same time gaining more influence over how we advise clients, approach projects, and mentor colleagues.

You don't have to join a fully established team or a well-defined consulting structure. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to use your experience to help shape that structure.

You're not only building better solutions for customers, but also contributing to Forza's continued growth.
